Course content

An introduction to the curriculum and teaching plans. Lesson planning. Types of lessons, structure of a lesson and its forms. Preparation for students? teaching practice. Analysis of studetns? teaching practice based on teachers? assessment and students self-assessment. Language devices and their practice (theory and practice). Typology of exercises. Learning exercises and their roles. Material methodological devices. Types and techniques of reading; practice, asociogram, home reading method. Work with authentic materials and development of reading ability. Comparative diagram. Means of testing and assessing of reading. Practice. Types and techniques of listening. Exercises on the development of speaking (discussion, dramatization), means of testing and assessing of speaking. An overview of exercises on the development of writing (creative writing, creation of hypertext), means of testing and assessing of writing. Translation and its role in Russian language teaching at elementary schools.
