Course content
|
1. Characteristics of artistic literature, its specifics in comparison with other types of art, the relationship between literature and ideology. 2. Literary science and its components (literary theory, history of literature, criticism). Basic methods of studying literary works (analysis, synthesis, comparison). 3. Functions of a literary work (cognitive, aesthetic, entertainment). Theme and motif in a work of art. 4. Basic types of composition in a work of art (e.g. chronological, retrospective, frame, etc.). 5. Functions of the plot, components of the plot, plotless works. Methods of characterization of literary characters. 6. Language of a work of art in terms of lexis, stylistics (synonyms, antonyms, archaisms, dialectisms, etc.), function of detail, landscape painting. 7. Narrative structure of the work of art (dialogues, monologues, types of narrator). 8. Methods of literary representation - epic, lyric, drama in comparative aspect. Prose genres. 9. Prose and poetry. Basic features of poetry in comparison with prose. 10. Literary trends in Russian literature in the European context. 11. Peculiarities of the development of Russian literature in the 19th century (censorship, involvement of literature in the sense of its connection with social and political development, the exclusive position of the writer in society). 12. Peculiarities of the development of Russian literature in the XX century (official literature, exile literature, literature of "internal emigration", negative influence of ideology and normative criticism). 13. Discussion, test.
