Course content
Basic milestones in the history of Russia. Formative factors of Russian culture. Functional, classificatory, genre, linguistic and developmental specifics of literature for children and youth in the Russian context. Folklore genres. Basic works of Russian children's literature (Pushkin, Tolstoy, Chukovsky, Marshak, Nosov, Dragunsky, Uspensky, Bulychev, etc.). The relationship between children's literature and ideology. Contemporary literary production. The role of illustration in children's books. Methodology of working with an artistic text in a foreign language. Experiential and exploratory reading. Creative and critical reading methods and ways of visualising information and their didactic application (Venn diagram, associogram, T-diagram, V-CH-D, dramatisation, use of icons and diagrams, etc.).
