Course content
Teaching will take place by means of consultations. 4 consultations will be organized during the semester. The students discuss translations of the text they had chosen. Students have to submit at least 30 pages (according to a standard) of translation of prosaic or dramatic texts they had chosen. Individual consultations are offered if agreed in advance. A list of literature intended for translation: Ivan Bunin: The Gentleman from San Francisco, Mitya?s Love, Cold autumn Andrej Belyj: part of his novel Peterburg Mikhail Sholokhov: part of the story One Man's Destiny, Don´s stories Valentin Rasputin: Money for Mariya, To Live and Remember, The Farewell Viktor Astefyev: Czar Fish, The Flying Goose, The Jolly Soldier ? has not been translated yet. Lyudmila Petrushevskaya: stories - has not been translated yet. Lyudmila Ulitskaya: Medea and her Children Alexander Solzhenitsyn: "Bodalsja teljonok s dubom" ? not translated yet Viktor Pelevin: Omon Ra - not translated yet Individual choice of the author.
