1. Basic terminology. What is the kinship? 2. Kinship and reproduction 3. Sex and gender 4. Taboo of incest. Marriage 5. Known variants and economical aspects of marriage. Postmarital residence. 6. Household and family, production and reproduction. 7. Kinship systems: unilinear and cognatical descendancies. 8. Marriage in the western society and its development during the last two centuries. 9. Social changes in the Europe and the US durin 19th and 20th century. Women-rights movements. 10. Feminism and anthropology. Anthropological depiction of women. 11. Sociology of family and the concept of social networks. 12. New technologies of reproduction as a challenge to the studies of kinship. 13. Opened lecture on topic selected by the students.
