The matter of legal relations to land (also referred to as "land law") includes the legal regulation of both public and private relations to land. Thus, the lectures will focus on both of these aspects, with an emphasis on the necessity to be able to apply private and public law norms to a particular situation simultaneously, but to be able to distinguish between them and to be able to distinguish between the principles and methods of private and public law. Attention is paid mainly to the general part of land law. This includes, in particular, the definition of land and its components, immovable property, parcels and buildings, the specifics of the right property, parcels and buildings, the specifics of the right of ownership of land, the right of construction and easements, expropriation and restrictions on the right of ownership of land. Furthermore, attention is paid to the cadastre of immovable property, zoning and special-purpose categorization of land, land use rights, permits and authorizations to build and land improvements. At the end of the course, the general issues are followed by an excursus into some specific parts of land law, specifically focusing on the specifics of legal relations to certain land (e.g. forest and agricultural land or land on which public transport or technical infrastructure is located). The course covers the following topics: - Legal relations to land (principles, methods, basic concepts). - Specifics of land ownership (subject, object, content, creation and termination). - Restrictions on the right of ownership and expropriation. - Access to land (right of access to other's land, securing access to own land) - Land use relations. - Real Estate Cadastre (Principles of keeping the CN, content of the CN, subject of registration, entries in the CN, maintenance of the CN in accordance with the facts) - Purposeful categorisation of land. - Spatial planning (especially in relation to land categorisation and the possibility to develop land). - Land development. - Specifics of the legal regime of selected categories of land (agricultural and forest land, land connected with water, land intended for mineral extraction, land on which technical infrastructure is located, land in protected areas and protection zones). - Specifics of ownership and use of land by the state and local self-government units.
