1. Definition of basic terms 2. Differentiation of mass communication theory and media studies 3. Introduction to semiotics 4. Introduction to the history of mass media 5. Mass communication models 6. History of mass communication theories 7. Selected theories of mass communication 8. Overview of media functions in society 9. An overview of theories of the effects of mass communication 10. Models of communication. New media concept. 11. Cultural studies 12. Methods of mass communication research
