1. Introduction to media theory. M. McLuhan and the medium is message thesis. 2. Introduction to the theory of technology. B. Stiegler and his analysis of the relationship between technology and time. 3. Technological reproducibility of art I.W. Benjamin and Little history of photography. 4. Technological reproducibility of art II. W. Benjamin and the Work of Art in the Age of Its Technological Reproducibility. 5. Contemporary reception of Benjamin's thought I: G. Didi-Huberman and the development of the concept of aura. 6. Contemporary reception of Benjamin's thinking II: G. Didi-Huberman and the concept of (filmic) montage as a means of knowing history. 7. Deleuze's theory of film I: image-movement. 8. Deleuze's theory of film II: image-time. 9. The beginnings of the modern concept of virtuality: H. Bergson, M. Merleau-Ponty. 10. Concepts virtual and actual in Deleuze. 11. Thinking with images I: M. Petříček and colour as a medium. 12. Thinking with an image II: the line as a creative difference. 13. Recapitulation of discussed topics, questions, discussions.
