Course content
1. Characteristics of engineering manufacturing technologies. Principal processes in a foundry. Casting alloys and ways of their melting. Casting patterns and their classification. Forming materials for temporary moulds, their survey. 2. Methods survey of making castings both in temporary and permanent moulds. Economic moulds design and castings defects. 3. Formability of metals and alloys. Forming methods, their classification. 4. Hot and cold forming. Survey of equipment 5. Weldability. Basic terms from welding technology. Survey of welding methods and equipment. 6. Weldment defects, brazing and soldering 7. Survey of casting alloys and equipment 8. Principles of metal cutting 9. Turning, planing. shaping 10.Milling and material division 11.Drilling, pull and push broaching 12.Grinding and finishing mechining methods 13.Metrology
