Course content

Basic concepts. Architecture of a modern universal processor. Wait, hold and halt states. Simplified processor timing. Addresses and addressing in a computer. Computer architectures. Computer memory system. Data transfers in a computer system. Processor interrupt system. Direct memory access. Multiprocessor and multicore systems. Backup systems. Speculative execution of instructions. Didactic principles for teaching selected topics. Creation of educational simulation models and verification of the principle of operation of selected computer system structures.
