Course content
The subject of the subject is to understand the painting in contexts of selected issues of visual culture, selected epochs or specific artefacts of visual arts. An individual solving of the three assigned tasks during the semester with the aim of finding an original solution and imagining the painting as a means of expression, focusing on composition, color, shape. The seminar gives the students the opportunity to set up their own rational methodology of painting instruction, alternative to traditional classical methods. Students work on individual projects in painting both technologically and thematically. They engage in technological experiments in the creative process. Student applies previously acquired experience in the field of study and free painting, in accordance with the content he can apply more complicated compositional and original craftsmanship, he can create a compact set, integrated in technique and art expression and adequately present it. As a source of inspiration, he uses various techniques and contents of painting in modern and postmodern art. Student theoretically insights and reflects work progress, theme variations and displacements with support in kunsthistorical contexts. 1. Introduction to the subject, organization of the semester, setting of the terms of the continuous consultations and requirements for the credit 2. Entrance Lecture - The Role of Painting in Contemporary Art 3. Individual consultations on the concept of the first painting project. Discussion and clarification of the solution 4. - 5. Realization of sketch material of the first project 6. - 8. Work on the implementation of the first task and ongoing consultations on project proposals two and three 9. Consultation of the final design of the projects envisaged and their implementation 10. - 11. Finalization of the project two and three 12. Portfolio and presentation work 13. Submitting all documentation and all three copyright projects

to describe the principles of image structure construction;
to explain the laws of color harmony and the principles of painting;
to describe and elucidate the historical context of the painting with reflection on their own visual opinion;
to characterize inspirational sources and influences for their creation.

to design and develop artworks in accordance with the assigned task;
to use the expressive possibilities of painting;
to suitably use the technological aspects of the task.

to realize his own cycle of artworks using the expressive possibilities of painting and intermedia;
to present your own work in the exhibition space.
