Course content
1. Introduction to media and audiovisual education and literacy (media literacy and media education as part of general education institutionalization of media cognition) 2. Media education and pedagogy in the world, development and history 3. Czech system of media education and pedagogy, development and present - RVP and issues of application of media education and media pedagogy to school practice of the field 4. Mass communication, effects of mass media, audience and control of media institutions. Media content, forms and genres in the media 5. Analysis of media messages, relevance of semiotic pedagogy and semiotic analysis of media messages to educational practice, issues of analysis and use of primary sources of information and secondary interpretation 6. Media strategies, manipulation and rhetoric of contemporary print and internet journalism, specifics of print media - print, magazines and billboards 7. Visual and audiovisual literacy, media rhetoric - visual and audiovisual rhetorical figures 8. Manipulation in photography, television news and advertising, influence of artificial intelligence 9. The importance of film and audiovisual education, the specificity of film genres and the "hybridization" of audiovisual messages 10. Media psychology - reflection on narrative, editing and framing in contemporary media and audiovisual 11. Interactive media and computer games, classification, their influence on young people 12. The world as a global village, the role of the internet, the risks of social networks and artificial intelligence 13. Approaches to the implementation of media education in the field - media education as an integrated topic, media education as a separate subject, the role of productive activities
