Course content
1. Introduction to two-dimensional art techniques 2. Two-dimensional art techniques in relation to contemporary art 3. List of materials for drawing 4. List of materials for painting (acrylic, tempera, oil, watercolor, pastel,?) 5. Basic graphic techniques and their application in art education for primary school (printing, frottage, monotype, ...) 6. Collage and its potential for art education at primary school 7. Line, colour and light in two-dimensional artistic expression 8. Composition in two-dimensional artistic expression 9. A way of expressing space and shape in drawing and painting 10. Experimental drawing, painting and graphics and its use at primary school 11. Combinations of art techniques and searching for the way for authentic artistic expression 12. Reflection of the process of solution of art tasks focused on two-dimensional art techniques 13. Presentation of the results of visual arts tasks

to clarify some concepts, ideas and facts from the areas of art and culture;
to determine a line, a shape, a colour, a surface and a material as the means of visual expression in two-dimensional art creation.

to identify the common and distinctive features of some artworks;
to apply acquired knowledge about artistic expression in the interpretation of an artwork;
to verbalize and to express in a written form rexlexion of an artwork.

to describe and to clarify some artworks (drawing, painting and graphic) from the history of art or from contemporary art;
to find some connections between their own artistic expression and visual culture;
to determine possibilities of visual expression by line, surface, colour and material in two-dimensional art creation;
to distinguish some artworks taken into consideration of form, technique or style.
Skills
to use the appropriate professional terminology in interpreting and reflecting their own artistic expressions;
to use the characteristics of line, colour and material for their own artistic expression;
to apply basic technical and craft procedures in two-dimensional art creation;
to design simple playful art activities and experiments for children in primary education.
