Course content

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to equip students with specific knowledge about the problems of ceramic art with regard to its use in school educational practice. Practical exercises supported by the theoretical knowledge will allow wider and deeper development of specialized art dispositions of students in the production and reception of spatial expression, art objects, or sculptures or sculptures. The methodical principle is to make use of the experience from one's own work to a deeper understanding of art and to seek inspiration to work with the given material in education. 1. Introduction to ceramics 2. Basic technical procedures in ceramics 3. Properties and specifications of ceramic clay material 4. Principles and rules for working with ceramic clay 5. Positions of applied and free ceramic art in the art of the past and present 6. Ideas for ceramic art 7. Ceramic realization 8. The potential of ceramic art for the development of pupil's artistic dispositions at school 9. Limit and risks of working with ceramic clay in the school environment 10. Experiments with traditional and new materials 11. Drawing design as the basis of ceramic realization 12. Process of ceramic realization 13. Reflection of artistic tasks focused on ceramics in relation to art activities at school
