Course content
Introduction to current textil creation in visual arts and design. to basic textile techniques and their subsequent application in artistic creation - eg realization of textile image, textile division, clothing accessories. Reflection of students´own creation and its didactic transformation to the school task. 1. Historical overview of used textile techniques and their pictorial demonstrations. Decorations, tapestries, carpets, lace, embroidery 2. Current textile creation and its representatives 3.- 4. Basics of textile printing. Creation of printing matrices, stencil printing and its application to the fabric. Introduction to raport fabrics 5.- 6. Techniques of weaving on a plate and frame. Canvas binding, twill binding, atlas binding. Weaving on the frame - preparation 7.- 8. Basic techniques of basketry. Utilization of natural materials - willow, straw, maize, extruded materials and their processing 9.- 10. Wool Processing - Felting. Dry, with a needle and a wet needle 11. - 12. Hand embroidery. Accepting basic stitches. Painting with a needle 13. Basics of batiktion. Waist, sewn, waxy. Textile painting - silk

to list and to describe different types of crafts, history and contemporary design;
to list some concrete authors from historical and contemporary design;
to describe the possibilities of transforming spatial creation into pedagogical creation.

Knowledge
to describe the concepts in the field of textile design of history and present;
to clarify basic technological procedures in the area of textil production;
to determine the properties of different textile materials and to define the principles of their use.

to utilise the possibilities of textile production in its traditional and contemporary concept for pedagogical creation;
use basic techniques of weaving, sewing, embroidering or felting;
to transform the textile crafts into pedagogical creation.
