Course content
|
1. Programme of the course, recommended literature. Refined oral communication. 2. Introductory presentation on a given topic - analysis of the most frequent mistakes. 3. Respiration as a basic condition of speaking. Respiratory exercises. 4. Voice training, acoustic means of connected speech. 5. Principles of articulation, practice. 6. Prepared public speech on a given topic, verbal means of contact. 7. Nonverbal means of communication - body language. 8. Orthoepic standards. 9. Readiness to express ideas and thoughts - spontaneous oral presentation in accordance with the Czech orthoepic standards. 10. Prepared public speech. 11. Expressive reading - listening and analysis of a model recording followed by reading. 12. Individual expressive reading (texts of students' own choice). 13. Final oral presentations and its analysis.

Students are able to - use their voice and breathing effectively while speaking, - use their voice to maximize impressiveness and emocionality of their speech, - apply required standards of correct pronounciation, - formulate and express their thoughts in a comprehensible and cultivated way, - adapt their style of speech and pronunciation to given communication situations, - use nonverbal means of communication, - gain and keep the attention of their listeners, - analyse their own qualities as well as mistakes and deal with them appropriately to reach the desired qualities of usage. |
