Course content

Language and speach. Language as an arranged system[centre and periphery]. Language curricula conception. Natural relatioship between language levels. Theory of the language sign. Basic terms of the main languge disciplines. Verbal communication models and language functions. Written and spoken language and their specifics. Develomental aspects of the formation of grammar categories and their characteristic features. Comparative approach to the language evaluation, typological and genealogical classification. Development of liguistics to the beginning of 20century [the Czech participation]. The Prague Linguistic Circle and the discipline development to the turn of 21century.
