Key learning outcomes The graduates have the competence for teaching chemistry at high schools on the basis of the proven knowledge and understanding to basic concepts and methods used in the technical fields (basic chemical disciplines, didactics of chemistry) and the pedagogic-psychological disciplines. They are acquainted with the current chemistry issues and didactics of chemistry, they can use the didactic transformation of the knowledge gained in chemistry at the high school level of chemistry curriculum. They are able to understand the problems of the relation "pupil and learning", the graduates are able to captivate the pupils for chemical subject. They choose the proper approach to students with the complying with basic didactic principles. They can choose the proper procedures and methods for implementing the various phases of the lesson; they create the conditions for a successful and active involvement of students in the learning process. According to methodical instruction they can implement experiments to the given theme and they are able to explain the principle of the experiment and its didactic value. They have profession skills and attitudes, they see the sense of pedagogic profession. They understand the problems of high school and the specifics of teaching chemistry at the high schools. Understand the issues and the specifics of high school chemistry teaching at high school. They are able to plan, implement and realize the reflection of chemistry teaching at high school, even in the context of other subjects included in the school curriculum. They can get and analyze basic chemical data. On the basis of literature study, data collection, analysis and data evaluation the graduates are able to write an extensive scholarly text. They are able to evaluate their communication skills, to analyze information critically, to formulate arguments and present teamwork. They realize the need of further systematic deepening their professional and pedagogical competencies. They are acquainted with the technical literature, they have a basic overview of the current level and research of the sciences. They can communicate in one world language and they are able to use modern information and communication technologies in their educational practice.

Profile of the programme This study programme is designed as an academic one. It consists of blocks of theoretical courses dealing with the chemical field of chemistry, didactics chemistry and educational-psychological disciplines. At the same time, it comprises a block of courses focusing on exploiting theoretical background in practice and on acquiring skills that the graduate can apply as a teacher of chemistry at basic (secondary) school. The programme also includes practical training. The graduates are primarily prepared for the direct entry to the practise in field like the teacher of chemistry at basic (secondary) school.
Persistence requirements unspecified
