Key learning outcomes
|
Graduates of the Physiotherapy study programme exhibit theoretical knowledge of the use of medical, social, educational and work means, as well as physical stimuli appropriate for training or for regaining the highest possible level of the functional ability of clients. Graduates also acquire knowledge of biomedical fields, as well as of social sciences. They also possess knowledge necessary for research aiming to raise the quality of the care of clients and, within their field; they are capable of communicating in a foreign language on the B1 level. Graduates of the Physiotherapy study programme possess skills necessary for operating in the area of support and education towards health, prevention (primary, secondary and tertiary), medical care and rehabilitation. They are capable of intervening by special means where movement and other physical and mental functions are endangered by the ageing process, an injury, illness or a congenital defect. They are capable of applying special diagnostic methods, procedures and tests, as well as physical measurement in order to evaluate the extent of joint movement and muscle power and to assess movement patterns, postural and locomotor behaviour of a patient/client. On the basis of diagnostic procedures, graduates are capable of preparing a therapeutic plan and of providing ergonomic consultancy. They possess skills of applying non-invasive physiotherapy and remedies of physical nature. Graduates are capable of evaluating treatment repeatedly in order to assess the achieved results of the therapy and of keeping documentation of the course of the whole physiotherapy process. Graduates acquire professional qualification to perform an occupation of a physiotherapist pursuant to Decree 424/2004 Coll.

Profile of the programme
|
This study programme is designed as an occupational one. In addition to theoretical background (blocks of theoretical courses), it mainly provides skill-related courses/blocks of skill-related courses preparing the future graduate for employment in various areas/fields, such as Physiotherapy.
