Key learning outcomes For The Master Program for Secondary School teachers of Psychology Graduates demonstrate a deep understanding of basic psychological categories and skills to use psycho diagnostic methods for exploring students' personalities and empathic understanding of their needs. They apply a broad knowledge of the theory of teaching and learning, curriculum and teaching resources; they interpret and evaluate the forms and methods of teaching. Graduates apply knowledge of the general, social and educational psychology to the teaching and learning. They demonstrate the basic knowledge of pupils' personal development especially in relation to the processes of learning, focusing on issues of psychopathology and social pathology. Graduates demonstrate knowledge of the level of understanding, application and critical assessment of the areas that relate to the expected outcomes listed in the General Education program for secondary school education in two areas: Human and Society (which define, explain and characterize the psychological themes to Civic and Social Sciences) and the Human and Health (which define, explain and characterize the psychological themes of Health Education Course). Graduates are also able to carry out the mandate of the transversal theme of personal and social education included in school curricula for secondary schools in the area of knowledge and skills, but also in shaping attitudes and values of students. Graduates apply basic instructional strategies for teaching psychology in secondary schools, i.e. they are able to independently and properly implement the teaching process in all its phases (planning, implementation and reflection on teaching).They can create in schools appropriate emotional climate in the classroom based on mutual respect, on cooperation and keeping of agreed regulations and rules of conduct. The graduates select appropriate methods of self-evaluation process regarding teaching and learning outcomes. They are able to work with a voice communication as well as non-verbal communication. They can allocate, organize and interpret information relevant to the sub-professional problems they present and defend results of their research investigation at appropriate level of dissertation. They understand to socioscientific context of education, they interpret, and evaluate the relationship of knowledge regarding other social science disciplines (philosophy, sociology, education, law, and ethics) to the processes of teaching and learning.

Profile of the programme This study programme is designed as an academic one. It is made up of blocks of theoretical subjects in the field of education and general didactics, pedagogical and school psychology, pedagogical-psychological counselling, psychopathology and psychodiagnostics for teachers, didactics of psychology. At the same time, it comprises a block/blocks of courses focusing on exploiting theoretical background in practice and on acquiring skills that the graduate can apply in various positions teachers of psychology in secondary schools. To the programme is included in teaching practice.
