Key learning outcomes
|
Graduates of the General Nurse study programme are equipped with all basic, specialized and highly specialized theoretical knowledge necessary for the provision of consultancy in the area of health as well as for the independent planning, coordination, critical revision and management of nursing care, including the recognition of health risks that fall in the area of nursing. They also possess knowledge necessary for research aiming to raise the quality of the care of clients and, within their field, they are capable of communicating in a foreign language on the B1 level. Graduates of the General Nurse study programme possess practical skills in providing basic and specialized nursing care, identifying the needs of patients/clients of all age groups in the physical, mental, socio-cultural and spiritual areas. They are capable of determining appropriate measures and of creating a plan of appropriate nursing interventions and other measures necessary for satisfying patients' needs, for developing, retaining or restoring their self-sufficiency and for moderating their suffering and ensuring their quiet dying and dignified death. According to the applicable legislation of the Czech Republic, i.e. pursuant to Decree No. 424/2004 Coll., graduates of the General Nurse study programme acquire professional qualification to perform a non-medical health service occupation and to perform activities related to the provision of health care in the area of disease prevention and support and maintenance of health.

Profile of the programme
|
This study programme is designed as an occupational one. In addition to theoretical background (blocks of theoretical courses), it mainly provides skill-related courses/blocks of skill-related courses preparing the future graduate for employment in various areas/fields, such as General Nurse.
